The bus operator will now recruit employees only after verifying their background. Buses will have driver details displayed. There will be provision for GPS tracking of all vehicles, CCTV surveillance and preferential seating for women. The company will also recruit and train women. Writer Salma was the chief guest at the launch of the campaign.
“Women safety is the responsibility of society as a whole. It is a great initiative from a private company which has taken up a big responsibility to show how much they value and respect women. Times have changed as more and more women are well educated, working in important companies and travel more,” she said. Music director and singer Reihana, who was also present at the launch, lauded the company for coming out with a unique concept for women.
